Test Program Sets (TPS)

TPS is used on Automatic Test Equipment (ATE) for testing and component level fault isolation of UUT (Unit Under Test).

A Test Program Set typically consists of :

- Test Program Software
- Hardware, including Interface Test Adapters (ITA), holding fixtures and cables
- Documentation

The computer in the ATE executes the test program software, which usually is written in a standard language such as ATLAS, C or Ada. The stimulus and measurement instruments in the ATE have the ability to respond as directed by the computer. They send signals where needed and take measurements at the appropriate points. The test software then analyzes the results of the measurements and determines the probable cause of failure. It displays to the technician the component to remove and replace.

1 Developing the test software requires a series of tools collectively referred to as the TPS software development environment. These include ATE and UUT simulators, ATE and UUT description languages, and programming tools such as compilers.

Since each UUT likely has different connections and input/output ports, interfacing the UUT to the ATE normally requires an Interface Test Adapter (ITA) which physically connects the UUT to the ATE and routes signals from the various points in the ATE to the appropriate I/O pins in the UUT.

ESDAS's been developing TPSs for more than 12 years and has great experience on that subject. Our capabilities are:

- Unit Under Test (UUT) Analysis and Test Concept Development
- Interface Test Adapter (ITA) Design & Development
- Software Design (ATLAS, TestBasic, C++, LabView, LabWindows, TestStand, Pinpoint)
- TPS Integration & Debugging
- TPS Sell-off and Maintenance
- CAD Drawing Generation
- TPS Validation and Verification
- Field Support
- Electronic Technical Documentation
- TPS Documentation & Technical Manuals

In ESDAS, the TPSs are developed with following process phases:

1) Requirements Analysis
2) Preliminary Design
3) Detailed Design
4) Pre-Production & Test
5) Validation/Acceptance
6) Production

All TPSs are developed by highly educated and experienced engineers in accordance with various international/military standards such as ISO-9001/AQAP-2110, MIL-PRF-32070, MIL-PRF-49503B, EIA-649, etc.
